The New Orleans Saints have come to terms with free agent LB Jonathan Vilma, signing his to a 5 years contract, the financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The 2004 defensive rookie of the year lead the Saints last season with 151 tackles, three forced fumbles, a sack and an interception.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said re-signing Vilma was the team's priority during the offseason.
"Jonathan proved he could come back from his injury and play at a high level and we expect the same or better from him starting this season," Loomis said
