The Pittsburgh Steelers have used the franchise tag on offensive lineman Max Starks. This will be the 2nd year the Steelers will tag Starks, last season he was designated their transitional tag.
The franchise tag will guarantee him $8.451 Million in salary, the average of the NFL's top five offensive linemen, a nice raise from the $6.9 Million he made last season.
Steelers will try to work out a long-term deal with Starks, who started 11 games last season at left tackle. The NFL's deadline to negotiate a long-term deal with franchise players is July 15.
