There are some rumbling around the NFL that Patriots LB Mike Vrabel is being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, which would reunite Vrabel with Chiefs new GM Scott Pioli.
Pioli would be interested in adding Vrabel to his roster to provide some leadership in the locker room and help set the tone for the Chiefs as they transition to a 3-4 defensive alignment.
*UPDATE* We continue to search for confirmation and compensation in the Chiefs/Patriots trading of Mike Vrabel. We are also starting to wonder if the reason the Chiefs and Patriots have been so quiet is because the trade might involve another player, like maybe Chiefs TE Tony Gonzales or perhaps Patriots QB Matt Cassell

Vrabel confirmed yesterday that the Patriots traded him in his typical, straight-to-the-point style, responding to an e-mail asking whether he had been swapped to the Kansas City Chiefs with a one-word answer: "Yes."
