The New England Patriots already beat out Buffalo earlier today in a free agent race, and now they appear to be hurting another division rival.
TE Chris Baker, who was released by the Jets last week, to save the team a $9 Million option bonus payment that was due to him in early March, had said he was interested in returning to the Jets next season. Baker will return to New York next season, but it will be in the opposing locker room.
Terms of the contract were not revealed.
