Kynan Forney signed for one-year with the Chargers last season but did not play in a single game a game, despite the lack of playing time the 8th year player has agreed to a two-year, $4.8 million contract that will pay him $2 million in the 2009 season.
The 30-year-old, who played his college ball at Hawaii had 89 starts in seven seasons with the Falcons. At 6-foot-3, 302 pound Forney is an athletic guard who works well in a zone blocking scheme.
With guard Mike Goff headed into restricted free agency, Forney might be given a chance to start at guard.
