Arizona Cardinals defensive end, Darnell Dockett expressed his shock to the news that defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast had been fired after 5 season with the team.
"That hit me hard," Dockett said. "I guess everybody has their own issues. But I think Clancy did a good job. I guess people forgot about the positive things we did this season. I like Clancy a lot, he's a good person."
The only pro defensive coordinator that Dockett has ever played for, Pendergast lead the Cardinals defense to an up and down season, finishing with a surprisingly strong defensive playoff showing ending with an eventual loss in Super Bowl XLIII.
