The Tennessee Titans have begun preliminary contract talks with All-Pro defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, and all signs are pointing to the two being able to work out a deal before Haynesworth hits the market.
Haynesworth was the teams franchise player last season, but avoided that this season by triggering a clause in his contract if he was nominated to the Pro Bowl that the Titans could bnot use the franchise tag again in '09.
Though no actual outlines were set, the two sides discussed ideas for the contract extension and the feeling is that Haynesworth would be compensated in a similar fashion as one of the top defensive ends Jared Allen.
