Jacobs Blames Burress

NY Giants RB Brandon Jacobs who is in tampa this week as a spokesman for Under Armour told reporters today that Plaxico Burress is the reason the Giants are not playing in the Super Bowl.

"If we don't have a lot of the stuff that happened on our football team we come here and we win, easy," said Jacobs, "We come here and we win it. That's why we got to come and get our team back together next year and make that run again."

"If we have Plax on our team we go 15-1 and we win the Super Bowl," Jacobs stated. "I'm not afraid to say that and I'll say it to anybody on any team. We had a different identity with him and we didn't have enough time to try to change our identity to be effective at what we wanted to do, try to play teams differently. Teams I'm not going to say stopped the run but they did a little bit better each week because they were able to have that eighth guy in the box."
