As we reported earlier, Bucs new TE Kellen Winslow participated in the teams first day of mini camp but not the second, leaving many to believe that he was injured, or arrived to the team as damaged goods. Raheem Morris put some of the rumors to rest when speaking to the media today after the second days of two-a-days.
"This is a voluntary deal," Morris said, "Guys are working. They practice when they can. Kellen didn't practice today. He attended and was great. He bounced around was listening attentively. He did everything he needed to do. He came to the meeting. He's been great since he's been here and very positive. I'm just happy he's here. It has nothing to do with health. It's a voluntary deal and Kellen didn't go today."
The conspiracy theorists will take this declaration of health with a grain of salt, claiming that a rookie head coach, he is already taking heat for releasing a large chunk of the veteran core including 14-year veteran Derrick Brooks and to then come out publicly and admit that he traded a second round pick for an injured TE would only add fuel to their fires.
