Favre Watch

Day 78

From Cleveland.com You just knew the Brett Favre drama wasn't over.

The New York Jets have finally released Favre from their reserve/retired list, and while it isn't likely that Favre will return to the NFL as a player, with him, you just never know.

His agent Bus Cook told ESPN that Favre has no plans to end his retirement.
But speculation will rise again if Favre accepts an invitation from his former coach, Eric Mangini, to be a "visitor" to Berea this summer to take in some of the Cleveland Browns' training camp.

Last month, Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini sent out an invitation to Favre. (New York Daily News story) The two apparently have been text messaging and keeping in touch since Mangini was fired by the Jets after last season. Mangini told the Daily News:

"He might come out to training camp to visit. Maybe I will have him do the show team or just hang out. . . . I don't think it would be anything formal. It's not like we are hiring him to run the scout team. I don't think he would be interested in that. He would be more like a visitor. An open invite."
