Michael Clayton has signed a five-year deal to remain with the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2004 draft. Finacial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Having been a free agent for two days, Clayton had received interest from several teams, according to WDAE 620's Steve Duemig, Clayton turned down an offer of more money from Seattle to remain in Tampa.
*UPDATE* According to Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times, Clayton agreed to terms on a 5-year contract that could be worth as much as $26-Million if certain performance bonuses are met. The deal also includes $10.5-Million of guarantees.
