Eric’s Week 14 Power Rankings

Here we go, Week 14 power rankings. We saw a bunch of upsets, a couple of last second victories and several bad teams prove why they are bad.

  • 1. Tennessee Titans (12-1): Best record in the NFL and clinched a home playoff game, things are looking good for the Titans
  • 2. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3): A huge 4th quarter comeback has the Steelers sitting pretty, but tough matchups against Baltimore and Tennessee are just around the corner.
  • 3. New York Giants (11-2): An ugly loss proves they are human but the G-men are still the team to beat in the NFC
  • 4. Baltimore Ravens (9-4): Ed Reed might be able to beat to beat Washington on his own but the whole team will need to show up for their upcoming game vs the Steelers
  • 5. Carolina Panthers (10-3): A Big win at home puts them in 1st place in the tough NFC South and 2nd seed in the playoffs.
  • 6. Indianapolis Colts (9-4): Made the Bengals game look like a scrimmage with the scout team, building steam as the playoffs approach
  • 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-4): Got steamrolled by Carolina in primetime, lets hope this defensive performance is an "amorition" (Thanks Emmitt)
  • 8. Atlanta Falcons (8-5): A loss to the Saints hurts but the falcons are still in the hunt.
  • 9. Arizona Cardinals (8-5): With a win this weekend the cardinals secured their First home playoff game since 1947! and the #9 spot on this ranking.
  • 10. Dallas Cowboys (8-5): Don't the cowboys realize that it is important to win games in December if you want a shot at games in January?
  • 11. Miami Dolphins (8-5): Locked in a 3-way tie for 1st place could the dolphins be the favorite to win the division?
  • 12. New York Jets (8-5): Jets look to stay upbeat, but fans are bracing for a late-season collapse.
  • 13. New England Patriots (8-5): Struggled to beat the Seahawks and lost bruschi for the remainder of the season
  • 14. Denver Broncos (8-5): Can Denver overcome the loss of another RB this season? Peyton Hillis is added to IR
  • 15. Philadelphia Eagles (7-5-1): Big win against NYG to keep the eagles alive. Solid defense and a great running back thats how you win in December.
  • 16. Minnesota Vikings (8-5): Vikings are getting a little respect as their matchup against Atlanta is bumped into better time slot.
  • 17. Washington Redskins (7-6): Redskins were out-matched by Ravens, maybe Head Coach Jim Zorn has hit the "Rookie wall".
  • 18. New Orleans Saints (7-6): Nice win against Atlanta but is it too little too late for the Saints?
  • 19. Chicago Bears (7-6) : Bears looked impressive against pathetic Jags, but have big test against Brees and the saints if they want to stay in playoff race.
  • 20. San Francisco 49ers (5-8): Injury to Frank Gore means 49ers are forced to look at other options on the roster.... might not be a bad idea for other positions.
  • 21. Houston Texans (6-7): Texans looked hot in chilly Lambeau but now have a tough challenge at home against the Titans.
  • 22. Green Bay Packers (5-8): Not only did the Packers lose big to the Texans, they've also lost OT Mark Tauscher for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.
  • 23. San Diego Chargers (5-8) : Too bad the Chargers can't play the Raiders all season long.
  • 24. Buffalo Bills (6-7): Doesn't matter which country they play in Bills keep piling on the losses.
  • 25. Cleveland Browns (4-9): Different Quarterback, same problems. What happens to the Browns Offense?
  • 26. Oakland Raiders (3-10): Proved me wrong in a huge loss to the Chargers, start preparing for the Draft.
  • 27. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-9): They can deny it all they want, the Jaguars have quit.
  • 28. Seattle Seahawks (2-11): Surprisingly good play from Seneca Wallace almost had Seashawks steal a win from Patriots.
  • 29. St Louis Rams (2-11): The Rams are looking really good this season.... just not on Sundays .
  • 30. Kansas City Chiefs (2-11): as the NY Giants showed us last season, No pass rush = No Chance. The Chiefs pass rush is pathetic, and so is their record.
  • 31. Cincinnati Bengals (1-11-1) A sign of the Bengals incompetance, they have signed Mike Doss to help their defense..... too bad it was 14 weeks too late.
  • 32. Detroit Lions (0-13): Minnesota tried to give them a win but they gave it away, and now they have released CB Brian Kelly. What is going on in Detroit?
