The Denver Broncos have added a 12th new player through free agency, that player will serve as the back-up to QB Jay Cutler. Terms were not disclosed on the contract.
QB Chris Simms has agreed to join the Denver Broncos after spending last season in Tennessee. Simms, 28, was a third round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2005, he had 15 starts over a three year stretch of his five seasons in Tampa, before he injured his spleen in a game against Carolina on Sept. 24, 2006 which required a splenectomy.
Simms hasn't seen any NFL action since that injury until the season when on Dec. 28 at Indianapolis, Simms got into a game for Teneessee, completing 1-of-2 passes for 7 yards.
