In an interview Friday with ESPN, Dolphins executive vice president of football operations Bill Parcells said he is committed to staying with the team for the 2009 season.
''I'm going to be with Miami until I feel that the team is in position and [general manager Jeff Ireland and coach Tony Sparano] have enough experience that they can handle it,'' Parcells said
Parcells helped the Dolphins, who were 1-15 in 2007 before he arrived, earn a record of 11-5 and a playoff berth in just one season. But Bill is not yet satisfied, saying that yes the record improved but they still lost in the first round of the playoffs. "We have a lot to do in Miami. We need a lot more guys.''

Parcells sees alot of Himself in Ryan
When Bill Parcells interviewed Rex Ryan last year for the Dolphins head coaching vacancy he came away impressed. "I saw a little of myself in him," Parcells told the Daily News by phone on his way to hitting some golf balls in south Florida.
"The thing I really look for in this business is there are guys who are into football and there are guys who are in the profession for other reasons," Parcells said. "You know, they get paid well, it's kind of a little bit in the limelight, but they are not the real deal as far as being football guys. I got a real sense that there wasn't too much aside from football that was important to Rex."
But if Ryan wants to really emulate Parcells he has to win. Parcells currently has a 183 career win and 2 super bowl title lead on Ryan, but a Parcells endorsement is a good confidence booster.

Parcells will Return to Miami
Miami Dolphins Football Operation boss Bill Parcells declared that he will return to the franchise he helped turn around in '08. The Miami Dolphins improved from a one win team in '07 to the AFC East Champions under Parcells. Entering his 2nd year of a 4 year contract had the option to walk-away with his full $12 million pay if the team was sold, which it was last week when real-estate developper Stephen Ross bought 95% of the Dolphins from Wayne Huizenga.
"My intention is to do what I've been doing," Parcells told the New York Daily News for Saturday's editions. "I think we will have ample time to figure each other out. I'm very optimistic."
Parcells, GM Jeff Ireland and head coach Tony Sparano all met with Ross on Friday to discuss the future of the Dolphins.
It appears that Parcells will fulfill his contract with the Dolphins. "I will never take another dollar from the Dolphins other than what I am earning," Parcells continued according to the Daily News. "I'm not trying to leverage anything. I got more money than I can spend now."
